kahuna's bro
Re: Batman meets Doc Savage People just didn't do without back then. Of course' date=' he was buying them by the palletload from Woolworth's five-and-dime (now there's an obsolete concept for ya!) since he went through them like a man with dysentary goes through TP. i remember woolworths
st barbara
Re: Batman meets Doc Savage It made Kath laugh last night and she doesn't even like Full Frontal Nerdity. OTOH, isn't Doc Savage the one who used to lobotomise his captured foes to make them "more useful to society"? I'm not seeing Big Blue getting down with that. Heck, given Batman's spazz out over the JLA messing with their enemies' memories, I'm not even seeing Bats getting down with that. cheers, Mark I believe that the good doctor preferred the term "delicate brain operation" rather than "lobotomy" ! Vulcan
Re: Batman meets Doc Savage And no small number of the people he operated on turned up in later books doing good work for humanity as doctors and what-not (rather than mere custodians or other menial workers). It's mentioned in passing in several books when he encounters one of them.

Guest steamteck
Re: Batman meets Doc Savage I believe that the good doctor preferred the term "delicate brain operation" rather than "lobotomy" ! Actually he was ( no kidding) removing their "criminal gland".
RexMundi
Re: Batman meets Doc Savage Well, Doc didn't have any alien telepaths or Masters of Mysticism to do the brain wipe for them. Criminal Gland works for something written way back then. ~Rex

And it's GREAT! ~Rex Well, it was OK. I wouldn't call it great, but it's mostly the portrayal of the Spirit that's bugging me.
