SSgt Baloo
Re: Things You'd See in a World Full of Supers... ...is Babe the Blue Ox really that much of a stretch? I just had a passing thought. Can you imagine just how HUGE BtBO's cowpats would have been? At least you wouldn't have to worry about stepping in one (unless you're Paul Bunyan), but you might have a long hike ahead to detour around one. Clonus
Re: Things You'd See in a World Full of Supers... An actual superhero soap opera about the behind-the-scenes drama of a group like the Avengers. Who Wants To Be A Superhero with the prize being actual powers. A living statue consisting of two lovers who agreed to make out in a bubble of slowed time which will last for centuries.
incrdbil
Re: Things You'd See in a World Full of Supers... Lots of concern, and testing of superhumans in professional sports. Worries about events being influenced by those with mind control, mental illusion, or telekenesis. Vegas paying top dollar for those with the ability to detect the same. Conswtruction firms seeking mutant specialists. Those with very limited powers (ie, only the ability to lift heavy things, but not true brick), or a low level eb guy getting job as a welder. Utech
Re: Things You'd See in a World Full of Supers... Space shuttle program scrapped in favor of Rocketman, able to place satellites right where you want them. Weather disasters such as drought and wildfires considered easily solvable. Huge population increases due to far better health care, availability of food and water, clean air, etc. Several historical wars in which super-atrocities were committed. Vows to never forget. Energy shortage? What energy shortage? Either 1) far more equitable distribution of wealth or 2) far more inequitable distribution of wealth. Brain drain from finance to humanities. New and innovative teaching techniques lead to extremely powerful teachers. Colonies on the Moon and on Mars. Deep space exploration in high gear. Many really want to get away from it all. drunkonduty
Re: Things You'd See in a World Full of Supers... A boom in Spandex sales. Not to mention, with all that Spandex lots more packages and camel toes on display. Seriously, consider the results of having a large base of super hero super-fans dressing like their idols. Spandex might look good on Mighty Guy but what about Flabby McFanboy, whose only super power is an ability to hoover up cheap burritos? More seriously we'd... Um. Serious... I'll have to have a think and get back to you on that.

Did anyone see supermutt do it? If not, what are they going to do, send the "material" to the crime lab for analysis? I don't think that you can get much usefull for Identification from poo. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure it would be pretty low on the crime lab's list of priorities. On the third hand, trickle-down superscience could mean the lab could do CSI-style 60-second DNA tests and get through that list a lot faster.
