Redmenace
I'm planning a WW2 all ACEs squadron campaign, think a cross between the Blackhawks and Crimson Skies. Can anyone reccomend some good source material. I would really appreciate some good movies and or TV shows. Thanks in advance.
Burrito Boy
Re: Good Dogfight sources Several episodes of The History Channel's show Dogfights have been posted on YouTube. The show covers everything from WWII to modern planes.

shadowcat1313
Re: Good Dogfight sources more Movies: 633 Squadron Tora Tora Tora Midway Pearl Harbor odd note: if you've ever seen Doctor Strangelove, they used a B-17 for a lot of the interior shots, and if you looked at the shadow of the B-52 when its flying over snow, its a B-17 shadow actually. Redmenace
Re: Good Dogfight sources Thanks much everyone, that is exactly what I needed. All I came up with on my own was Dogfight and Talespin. Sky Captain was on my list but if it gets a pass on a pulp board I guess I'll look elsewhere. Ian Mackinder
Re: Good Dogfight sources Sky Captain was on my list but if it gets a pass on a pulp board I guess I'll look elsewhere. Well, I enjoyed it, but putting it down seems to be a popular pasttime on various boards. As 'dogfight movies' go, unless your game is likely to feature a P-40 more tricked out than James Bond's Aston Martin, weird airships and giant robots; it probably is not what you are looking for here. Think 'Crimson Skies' combined with seriously deranged (Hollywood) science and some interesting drugs, and you might come close.
Wolfjack
Re: Good Dogfight sources How about "The Dawn Patrol?" Sure its WW I, but this set the orignal standard back in the day is quite pulp appropriate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dawn_Patrol_(1938_film) Next to Battle of Britain, its a top film in my book. Ian Mackinder
Re: Good Dogfight sources Reach for the Sky (This is about Douglas Bader who had a tin leg) BOTH legs, dude. I read the book that the movie was based on. Bader was in a horrific aircrash in the 1930s. Miracle that he survived at all, even more of a miracle that he STILL wanted to fly afterwards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Bader
Redmenace
Re: Good Dogfight sources for modern dog fights look at Area88 it is japanese anime I've never seen the anime, but I loved the Manga. A number of situations from it found their way into a Star Wars game I ran in the mid 90s.
