"Our newest gaming product was the Champions adventure Foxbat for President, and we sold around half of what we brought," says company leader Dave Mattingly. "And having the author on hand to sign copies was an added pleasure." Game sessions from the book were run as demos, with players either taking on the roles of the Champions or of Foxbat's "amazing friends" to fight against opponents such as professional assassins, strange undead, and sorcerous cultists. Jason Walters says, "Foxbat has a grand appeal in the Champions Universe, and is well-loved by fans. Even though his genre niche is, of course, being not at all loved by the superheroes." The author, Michael Satran tells us that, "This is my first publication, and I'm totally excited by it." Michael's infectious enthusiasm is evident in the Foxbat podcast interview. The BlackWyrm booth promoted the book with giveaways such as campaign buttons, brochures extolling the many virtues of Foxbat, and a drawing in which "voters" put their names on a "ballot" and threw them into Foxbat's Uncle Sam hat.
