mayapuppies
Hello all, I am attempting to gather together a series of weapons from all sorts of categories (blades, axes, maces, polearms, spears, etc) that would fit artistically (if not reality) with the Falcata and Kukri. The goal is to have a selection of weapons that LOOK like they would come from the same culture. historical accuracy is completely irrelevant to this exercise. ghost-angel
Re: Weapon Look-a-likes no links to piccies... but the Kopesh might fight well enough. As well as a Cutlass and Scimitar.
mayapuppies
Re: Weapon Look-a-likes The cutlass is already being used by another culture. But here are the Kopesh and the Scimitar. I'm liking the Kopesh. I wonder if there are other, non-sword weapons that would be of a similar design style?
Shadowsoul
Re: Weapon Look-a-likes Some sort of military scythe? Ancient Scottish War Scythe. Fantasy War Scythe. Eighteenth Century War Scythe. Also. Found this while looking for scythes. Eighteenth Century Glaive.

Perhaps a Xena style chakram would be suitable? I hadn't really thought out the reasons why, I just really like the Falcata and Kukri and planned on assigning them to this culture and was curious as to what other weapons they may have developed based on stylistic similarities. Some throwing weapons might be in order over bows, though. But I am trying to go for more "realistic" weaponry. Not sure how realistic Xena's gear really is? I've got a few actually. And for the record, the khukri throws pretty damn well for a weapon that isn't specifically designed for throwing. Shadowsoul
Re: Weapon Look-a-likes A boomerang style weapon might fit the prevailing theme. Particularly because with a sharpened inner edge it could be used as a sort of crude kukri or falcata.
