CTaylor
Re: Speeding Up Combat Just as the others have said, don't count END on your bad guys. I recommend this for all fights, and until the players get good at playing, have them avoid keeping track of endurance too.
DocMan
Re: Speeding Up Combat I've been using a dice rolling IPhone app when I GM. The speed of calculating attacks and damage has been reduced to the point where it seems instantaneous! Which one? Doc
DocMan
Re: Speeding Up Combat If you're using it: Remove Knockback unless dramatically appropriate, or some other condition. It removes a die roll, counting, possible extra damage rolls, and reduces the amount of Phases spent running back into the fight (especially for the PCs) or chasing down other combatants that are knocked around but not out. Or just use standard dice for the knockback reduction roll and for knockback damage. Pro: Lets you keep the flavor of knocking people around. Con: Will have characters being knocked back more often, so skip this when dramatically appropriate. Doc
