Clonus
http://www.geocities.com/branwaedd/13.html Here's the question. The Knife of the Horseman "which would serve for twenty-four men to eat at table.". Can anyone offer some guesses what that means?
Old Man
Re: The Knife of the Horseman Some googling suggests that there was a custom among the Britons at the time that there could only be one knife at a table. This knife somehow was always at hand whenever somebody wanted it. http://books.google.com/books?id=8-UGAAAAYAAJ&pg=RA1-PA265&lpg=RA1-PA265&dq=Llawfrodedd+knife&source=bl&ots=qRDmmM_lte&sig=sc2glcHvOjAdeE_oujrlPWDG8C8&hl=en&ei=3NOVSbWtOZnMsAP_xPG2Bw&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=10&ct=result#PRA1-PA265,M1
Old Man
Re: The Knife of the Horseman Which would be a lame power. I'd rather define Llawfrodedd's utensil as a teleporting or dancing blade.
mayapuppies
Re: The Knife of the Horseman I dunno, in a political campaign it seems that could be quite handy.
Clonus
Re: The Knife of the Horseman Wow. The need for a rule like that speaks volumes about how rambunctious the British were in those days.
Lucius
Re: The Knife of the Horseman Which would be a lame power. I'd rather define Llawfrodedd's utensil as a teleporting or dancing blade. Sounds like it is a teleporting blade. It moves around the table to whoever is reaching for a knife. Or is it a case of duplication? Everyone gets a knife, but they're all the same knife? Lucius Alexander Duplicate palindromedary

It moves around the table to whoever is reaching for a knife. Or is it a case of duplication? Everyone gets a knife, but they're all the same knife? That's how I'd do it ... if I bothered to do it at all This is one of those treasures that most players would leave lying on the table - or maybe use once - to eat Llawfrodedd's other treasure - one of the three prominent cows of Britain. This doesn't mean I wouldn't use either/both in a game: just that I wouldn't stat it out, since game effects are neglible. cheers, Mark
