Professor: "Why, of course! It's just a name, like the Death Zone or the Zone of No Return. All the zones have names like that in the Galaxy of Terror."

How about a colony ship that gets stranded there? You can have a Gilligan's Island in Space campaign.

that sounds just awful.

If the commute to Vancouver is half reasonable, you could probably rent a 2-bedroom for under $500/month. Not much under, but under.
