Patriot
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I have used speck that was so lean it looked like dryed ham...no visible fat. The Hungarian style I believe is a bit fattier and comes with all varieties of paprika (sweet. hot, or smoked). If the one you are using has a nice bacon-like streak of fat it should do well for barding I would guess.
Cygnia
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Yeah, there's a nice amount of fat on the slab I picked up. We're definitely going to taste-test it before we get the bird (which will hopefully be this week) just in case.

tkdguy
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I just tried some of the cupcakes from this bakery. They are really good! I have a few more cupcakes; I can't wait to try the rest. The flavors I tried were Cookies & Cream, Apple Pie, and Red Velvet.

Though it was more that the priest asked me if I had made it in prison. My reply was "Yep, that's where I got to be good friends with the groom." Cygnia
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Checked out what's becoming a new favorite at the Lion on Lorain tonight and tried their rendition of moules-frites. The mussels were very flavorful, steamed in a lovely beer broth. The potatoes, on the other hand, weren't really to my liking. They were billed as "jo-jo potatoes", but this was basically a potato quartered into wedges and tempura-fried. The batter just didn't have enough taste to it, yet really didn't soak up the broth very well either.

Cygnia
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Yeah, they don't skimp at B-Spot. My one minor quibble is when they do fried eggs for their sandwiches, it's either over easy or over hard; they don't do over medium.
teh bunneh
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore There used to be a burger at Rock Bottom Brewery called the 2am Burger. Might still be there; I haven't had it in a while. It had hashbrowns, bacon, american cheese, and a fried egg. It's actually pretty good. (And the egg is cooked over-medium). CrosshairCollie
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Dumb question ... are you actually supposed to leave the egg on the burger when you eat it, or take it off and eat it separately? I have trouble imagining egg and burger tasting good at the same time ...
Cancer
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I've been in a place where you could order an egg burger, but I never got one to try it. I don't care much for fried eggs.
