Shay, Wood Elf Beastmaster

Recommended Posts

Shay is to be my daughters character, she has done one adventure where she has shown herself to be a compasioned guardian of the woods, preventing a fight between the party and two wolves. (I will be doing a campaign log tomorow if all goes as planed)

She is a woodelf maiden who has spent the last 35 years traveling, she has come into the town the campeign takes place in and is quickly recruited to help clear a castle of what has possesed it. She actualy is making me rewrite part of the campeign as she will be able to easily side step to much of it

Please review and critique

Re: Shay, Wood Elf Beastmaster

I would give the tiger some small amount of extra running, but that's a minor quibble. (Tigers can go at 35-40 MPH in short bursts, this one goes 12 MPH.)

Overall, it's very nice.

Well, that is at combat velocity... double for non-combat... A little slow, but not quite as bad...

Re: Shay, Wood Elf Beastmaster

Thats pretty good for a basic, beginning Beastmaster style character.

I have a few suggestions for additional abilities as her characters powers grow;

Animal Magnetism: The character is very attractive to other animals, or can appear very menacing to them as well. Write this up as additional PRE (or maybe PRE attack dice) only vs animals.

Animal Possession: Easy enough, Mind Control vs animal minds.

The Beast Within: This one isn't so easy. As the character can "posess" an animal companion, so can the character allow herself to become posessed. She relinquishes control of her body to that of an animal companion. The effects should probably vary based on the animal in control. For example; if she allows the Falcon to posess her, it would increase her Dexterity, her leaping and her sight-based perception. If she were to allow her tiger to posses her, it would increase her Strength, Dex (a bit) Body (a bit), Presence and running. maybe she would grow claws and/or talons and would gain fighting prowess from the creature (additional skill levels, or martial maneuvers...Eagle claw style...Tiger style etc)

Writing this one up isn't so intuitive. My instinct tells me this would be best written up as a Multiform. I think thats the least painful way. Another way would be a small to moderate Variable Power Pool.
