yamamura
I am finally getting around to run a fantasy campaign in Feudal Japan. It revolves around the child emperor of the Taira clan not dying at the Battle of Dan-no-ura but instead being taken by the gods or by some legends by the great Onmyoji Abe no Seimei to another world. In this world the Clan prosper with other arrivals from Japan until they have reached a comparison between Japan of the 1500's. It is a time of chaos as each Daimyo tries to either protect his land or take those of his neighbor. So before I recreate the wheel, has anybody did a write up on the spells from Sengoku? Captain Obvious
Re: Taira Clan Reborn Can't say I know anything about the Sengoku spells, per se, but there's a thread in this forum called Random Rokugan Stuff that might be helpful, even if it's not 100% what you're looking for. yamamura
Re: Taira Clan Reborn Must spread it around. There is definitely stuff to mined there. Thanks Captain Obvious and thanks SKJAM.
tkdguy
Re: Taira Clan Reborn I don't know if this helps, but I remember watching a series on Yoshitsune. In this version, the emperor survived (one of the Taira children took his place). He and a few of the surviving Taira women were to take the cloth. In this version, Yoshitsune realized what was really going on, but he kept their little secret. Maybe the emperor was later taken by the Tengu and trained by them. Markdoc
Re: Taira Clan Reborn Also I ran a Hero campaign set in Japan about that time - with very little difficulty, you could alter the adventures to insert your heir as the focus for the PCs efforts. Or, if you have the adventures already plotted out, the setting notes and NPcs may still be useful. Shigeru
Re: Taira Clan Reborn Not to hijack this thread but... Markdoc, I ended up using some of your characters as NPCs in my own feudal Japanese game... I can probably provide all of the PCs and NPCs from my own game. A lot of mooks, soome mid-level types and some full on characters. I also had some maps that I made converted to BMP format so I could reuse them. Things like bath-house, temple, crossroads and guard door.
