Old Man
Interesting because it looks like an AR15 but has no buffer tube. Some digging shows that it's an AK type action, however.

gewing
40mm grenade is going to require a fair bit of bulk. Building it out of composites and trying to match the aesthetics and ergonomics of current trends...
L. Marcus
Well, current trends are silly!
freakboy6117
its a very similar aesthetic to the FN-2000 a compact multi-shot 40 mm that is small enough to be moderately concealable would make for an interesting weapon for monster hunters especially with the range of ammo available, though i can see why people don't like the space gun looks. Old Man
I have fond memories of being shot at with an MSG-90 (airsoft version). Friend of mine had one; its firing mechanism was the equivalent of closed bolt for airsoft, which was highly unusual at the time. I was struck by how long and heavy that gun was, and it wasn't even real steel.

fbdaury
So, I got bored the other day and decided to stat out a DC version of El Mariachi for my intellectual-exercise campaign world. While doing so I thought of this thread because, Hey- what's more fun than a Guitar case full of guns?

DusterBoy
.280 Improved? Is that based off .280 British/7x43mm that the EM-2 was going to be chambered in?

gewing
.280 Improved? Is that based off .280 British/7x43mm that the EM-2 was going to be chambered in?No, though that would be one of the best general purpose rifle calibers. The .280 is a Remington cartridge made by necking the .30-06 case down to 7mm/.284. It is a good cartridge, but when it is modified into an "Ackley Improved" configuration, it is roughly a match for the 7mm Remington magnum, but using less powder. It is a pretty high pressure cartridge but very good at long range. My dad built one with a 27" barrel, and pushed 140 grain Banes triple shocks at, iirc,3300fps. Might have been only 3200, but still a superb combination. Edit tablets can be annoying.
