aylwin13
Re: Making paperminiatures I posted some simple instructions here. If they aren't enough, let me know and I'll flesh them out. You can find a whole mess of pics that I've collected from everywhere here on Zornwil's site.
keithcurtis
Re: Making paperminiatures Here is my recommended method for printing and folding. I greatly prefer this to tri-fold or standard tent-fold. You can label and color code them in one swell foop. Keith "foop" Curtis

Making your own paper miniatures isnt impossible, but it is -much- more time-consuming than its worth, for most people. Markdoc
Re: Making paperminiatures Check my sig. Making your own paper miniatures isnt impossible, but it is -much- more time-consuming than its worth, for most people. Really? I did all the paper minis for the players (full colour front and back) in one weekend and did dozens of NPCs in less time than that. (edit - and that includes actually doing the character portraits, too) General method is outlined here: http://www.geocities.com/markdoc.geo/Gaming_stuff/OAT/cardboard_mooks.htm all you need are pictures and a graphics program. cheers, Mark
Rapier
Re: Making paperminiatures It's even super easy if you have a character sketch loaded into HD. You can shrink the image down and stick it on a template in your friendly neighbourhood word processor and away you go! Print, cut, fold, glue, GAME! Agent333
Re: Making paperminiatures Yeah, just need a picture and a graphics program. I use Photoshop, but I could probably do what I do with MS Paint if need be. If you need to make portraits of characters you can use the following program: http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/heroMachine/classic.asp http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/heroMachine2/heromachine2.asp http://www.heromachine.com/

I crank them out by the dozens (although it helps to have a large library of ready-made art that's suitable for using as cardboard figs). They're a standard part of any demo game I run. Good heavens, just start with the Storn's Art and Characters Thread. That should give you quite a few bits of arty goodness for your games. Mike W
Re: Making paperminiatures I do things the easy way: 1. Print a picture of the character off the computer. 2. Past picture to posterboard or other thick card stock. 3. Write name of character on back of card stock. Done. To hold the characters, I have small, painted wooden circles(color coded as blue for Heroes and Red for villains, available in the crafts department at Michael's and similar stores) with small magnets glued onto them. When it's time to fight, I use a metal binder clip to "attach" each paper miniature to an apporpriately colored circle.
