hind
Hi everyone I had an idea for a female crime lord in Cairo, and I was going to call her Cleopatra. I've heard that Hero has a character by the same name. I'd consider purchasing the appropriate book if the character fits my idea or presents a better one. Can anyone tell me a bit about Cleopatra? Thanks in advance
csyphrett
Re: cleopatra question I believe that is the name of a female pimp in Hudson City. She runs part of the sex trade, some clubs, and a movie making company, I believe. CES
Edsel
Re: cleopatra question Cleopatra is on page 222 of Hudson City The Urban Abyss, a source book for Dark Champions. She is one of the four major players in the Hudson City vice world. She has a reputation as the "vice queen of Hudson City." Though a vice lord she is probably the least repugnant of the players in the vice world. Essentially she is a former prostitute who is now a very powerful madam. She owns and operates a "gentleman's club" on the strip called Little Egypt. An expensive and classy place (at least as classy as a strip joint can be). She secretly runs a brothel in the same building. She stays in business because she probably has blackmail material on the right people to discourage any official actions against her. Besides compared to other operators in the vice world she is much more savory. She is probably in her late 30s and relatively attractive. She does not get involved in kiddie porn and she does not abuse her girls. She is probably an invaluable source of information for any player-characters who manage to get in good with her since she probably knows about most of the secret things happening on the strip. She treats her girls well since she used to be one and has some sympathy however she realizes that she is running a business and will be as ruthless as is needed to protect that business. EDIT (a bit more info): Cleopatra has never been tied to any murders or other violent crime but that doesn't mean that she has not been involved in such things. If a person made her into an enemy she probably has people, or knows where to get people, to eliminate the problem. She also has several tough bouncers/bodyguards. Of course her club, Little Egypt, has the whole ancient Egyptian theme going. She is publicly known as the owner of that club and most streetwise people know that she is also a crime lord. Cleopatra is watched by the Hudson City police and she is vain. She has 2d6 of Luck. She is only a 140 point character and a lot of her points went into the skills to make her a smart and effective operator. She is not a primary combatant, she has people for that.
