Black Rose
Re: Genre-crossover nightmares This shows up on late night cable quite a bit: I was going to mention this, but the sad fact that I actually knew about it slowed my response time. Oh, how I yearn for the day when you can perform a global find-and-delete on your own brain, and then a defrag.

tkdguy
Re: Genre-crossover nightmares But in Space - noone can smell you fart! That reminds me of the opening scene in The Trouble With Tribbles. Quoting from memory: Kirk: Mr. Chekov, how far away are the Klingons? Checkov: One parsec; close enough to smell them. Spock: That is illogical, Mr. Checkov. Smell does not travel through space. Chekov: Just a small attempt at humor. Spock: Very small, Mr. Chekov. Lucius
Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Encyclopedia Dan Brown Young genius solves crimes around town with a combination of deductive reasoning and obscure, if not esoteric, knowledge. Unfortunately his efforts result in the arrest of innocent suspects because the reasoning is often flawed and much of the obscure knowledge is false if not absurd. This is obvious to the reader but not to any of the characters. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary can smell it from way over here
