Enforcer84
Re: Order of the Stick I think the amulet is there to regrow Xycon. A backup disk' date=' if you will. And given Xycon's status as [b']the[/b] baddie of the strip, I doubt even that is in danger. Or...Xykon could be destroyed and Redcloak take over as the preeminent baddie in the strip. That happens too.
casualplayer
Re: Order of the Stick *sniff, sniff, sniffle* I still remember the first time I Smote Evil with a non-standard weapon. Killed a gargoyle with a turkey. O-Chul is all that and a bag of chips.

Sociotard
Re: Order of the Stick I like that V is going for the same stategy that scarred her mentally last time: turn invisible and abandon her friends as soon as she has no other good ideas. He needs to have a genuine possibility to escape that he can then ignore in favor of a heroic action.

OddHat
Re: Order of the Stick Well, he seems to have been pretty quickly defeated, but I wouldn't say he was Worfed. His schtick is surviving almost anything, but Miko was the Guard's best on the attack. Ochul will probably survive this as well.

Actually, I think O-Chul is going to get one more swing in just in time to save Varsuvius. Then I think his run is going to end, once and for all... casualplayer
Re: Order of the Stick O-Chul taking a dirt nap would be the final straw for the shadowbeastie, and then we would see the bones fly. I'm just not sure Rich could ever do justice with an image of the thing after all this hype, and who wants to watch a patch of dark fight a skeleton? Peregrine
Re: Order of the Stick I'd call it enlightened self-interest - V couldn't escape, so that was the next best way to survive. Fortunately, X is enough of a villain to start... monologuing.

Hugh Neilson
Re: Order of the Stick He turned around from climbing out the broken wall - he could escape and chose to go back. You can see it on his face - he only changes his mind when X starts talking about O'Chul's treatment as a "prisoner first class". Go O'Chul! eternal_sage
Re: Order of the Stick i agree. i think that the door was just the easiest way out. there was another, and he was attempting it before he changed his mind. go V. redeem yourself and be a hero for once. Cygnia
Re: Order of the Stick I do admit...I'm paranoid that Rich might be setting up for an impotent Hope Spot though. I'm 99% certain O-Chul is willing to sacrifice his life if it'll drive off Xykon for the time being. And that's fine. That's even expected. But Rich is fond of lampshading and subverting tropes. So the cynic in me is wondering if V's gesture will be pointless in the end.
Lucius
Re: Order of the Stick "A +8 racial bonus to listen skill checks" - Even while yammering, yammering, yammering for an entire page? It's a wonder he ever hears anything if he won't shut up even for a moment! That's not a villainous monologue, that's a villainous filibuster! Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says Lucius would be the expert on long boring monologues.
Chris Goodwin
Re: Order of the Stick I'm thinking a Smite Evil right through the pretty bauble hanging right there on X's ... err... belt. That might actually break it. Probably wouldn't do X a whole lot of good either.
