Hugh Neilson
Re: Order of the Stick Whassa "axiomatic" weapon? As Sociotard says. The terms "Axiomatic" and "Anarchic" are to Law and Chaos what "Holy" and "Unholy" are to Good and Evil. The Axiomatic weapon would be more effective against chaotic targets, likely explaining Haley's comment. This was another addition I liked. It always bugged me that "Good/Evil" was viewed as a huge schism, but "Law/Chaos" was just minor differentiation. Oh, and just to stay on topic: Oh, that Belkar! eternal_sage
Re: Order of the Stick "Yea, and i'm gonna drop a house on you and sing about how i represent the Lolipop Guild. C'mon, let's keep our threats realistic shall we?" LOL! and i love being proved right. that was a fave multiclass build of mine, and since Belkar apparently has raised his mental stats a few points since the early days, he's kicking some tail. i also loved that he got her screaming about finding someone else to kill her. that was fantastic. i really like this side of Belkar. he is acting like a good guy team player, but is still evil, sadistic Belkar. its wonderful. i love you Belkar!! wait, no! don't stab me!! *dead
Vulcan
Re: Order of the Stick D&D has magical weapons with minty freshness now? Sometimes I'm glad I bailed out on the system when I did (Which was BEFORE anyone ever heard of "THAC0" an idea I understand has already come and gone. Whatever it meant.) Lucius Alexander And a +5 Holy Palindromedary THACO dates back to 1st edition as a shorthand, it got formalized into the rules in 2nd. It stands for 'To-Hit Armor Class 0'. Basically what you need to roll on a d20 to achieve damage on a guy in full plate armor with a shield. So if you played D&D before 1E, what did you play? Cygnia
Re: Order of the Stick So if you played D&D before 1E, what did you play? Chainmail?
Enforcer84
Re: Order of the Stick Whassa "axiomatic" weapon? It's a lawfully aligned weapon. MilkmanDan
Re: Order of the Stick I think he considers the succubus hotter than Crystal. Could also be Tsukiko. While the combat was displayed on-screen much, it was implied she and Hayley had gone at it quite a bit

We called it "AD&D" for "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons." If anyone was using "THAC0" then, it wasn't anyone I knew. I don't remember it being mentioned in the Player's Handbook or the Dungeon Master's Guide. And no, I wasn't playing it quite long enough ago to have been playing Chainmail. But the calculation was the same as AD&D, and more than a few ppl had figured out it as a shorthand for the AC Charts before it was 'official'
Doug Limmer
Re: Order of the Stick To get even closer, the 1st ed. DMG had a large table summarizing of all the monsters in the Monster Manual. It included a column labeled "To Hit A. C. 0".
