Black Omega
Is there any human level rule for this beyond targeting them as foci? Just a -2 seems pretty easy to hit. I can just use the foci rules, but I was thinking there was something more specific for it.
Captain Obvious
Re: Shooting guns out of hands A -2 penalty would probably be good for a supers game, but for a somewhat more realistic game, you could make the character go for a hand shot (-8 I think?). Whether this does damage or not would be the GM's call.
Sociotard
Re: Shooting guns out of hands Well, a handgun is about the size of a rat or a mouse, and the bestiary gives those a -6 to hit. It also depends on how easy I want this to be. If I'm going for gritty realistic, I'd set it as -6, and say if they made it by more than 1 it wouldn't do damage to the person. If I wanted amazing stunts and saturday morning cartoon level action, I'd say a -1 would be plenty.
Edsel
Re: Shooting guns out of hands Dark Champions recommends a -5 to -8 penalty for targeting handguns, depending on the size of the weapon. Really big guns are -5 and really small one are -8. The average handgun is a -6 target.
Markdoc
Re: Shooting guns out of hands If you use the standrd Superheroic focus rules, then remember that it's -2 on the roll vs the target's DCV - so it's not that hard, but it's also not a sure thing. Others have already suggested the alternate "grittier" rules. cheers, Mark

pinecone
Re: Shooting guns out of hands According to my vigilante character...if you shoot them in the head, they drop their weapons everytime...
Black Omega
Re: Shooting guns out of hands Mostly, targeting guns as foci was more powerful than headshots. One shot, destroy the gun. Most guys don't carry multiple guns and are less effective with bare fists, and less likely to attack armed opponants once disarmed. The -6 or so works very well for a human level game like this. It can still come up, but isn't an easy shot.
Mightybec
Re: Shooting guns out of hands Or you could make the gun an MP, and make one slot a limited TK.
