L. Marcus
Our first gold -- in the women's cross-country skiing 4x5 km relay. Charlotte Kalla was third out on her leg, 26 seconds behind the lead. She passed the German and the Finn on the inside of the last bend, and won by .3 seconds. death tribble
Other than the sad news about Aaron Allston, it has been quite a good day for me. One of my Fu Manchu films arrived in the post, another piece of Storn art arrived and he uploaded the ones he has done for me, and lastly the first of four other pieces of art from a Phillipines artist was shown to me in colour flats stage. Bazza
About a minute ago I got a tweet from Josh Randor, who plays Ted in How I Met Your Mother. I is one reason why i love Twitter. Ordinary people communicating with ordinary people who also happen to be famous. L. Marcus
I'm not the most social fellow, but tonight I went to dinner and and a show with some friends. We went to the theater -- that also has a very decent restaurant, the chicken was very nice -- and saw Frankenstein. The guy who played the Creature was very good, and the oldster who played the Blind Man was ace. Pretty faithful to the original novel -- kinda like Kenneth Branagh's adap. tkdguy
Old Man
March 2014 marked the first time in more than a decade that there were zero U.S. fatalities among American troops engaging in combat, according to numbers from the Department of Defense. tkdguy and Cancer

death tribble
Watching an infant at the health club and people's reactions to him is wonderfuln to the spirit. His crawl power is quite something. tkdguy
death tribble
So on Saturday I lead a group of Vampires to steal an artifact from under the very gunfire of the Gentlemen's Club in broad daylight. And no the vampires were not Twilight ones. Mind you on the leader escaped, all of the others were show down by the Gentlemen.
death tribble
Fast Class travel on the railway is wonderful. You get the 1st Class lounge with free orange juice and coffee and papers magazines. On the train itself you get bigger chairs. You also get not one but a multitude of free drinks. Orange juice, coffee and tea. I could have had five but I had four. It was nice and peaceful. And the weather was good. Also the fact that the line had reopened after repairs necessitated by the storms helped. One of the best journeys I have ever had. And that was my Easter present that was. L. Cancer
BTW, on Friday I had a first at this institution: a student came up after class and pointed out she had been given too many points on her paper. I think we are both expecting her to kick butt in my class. tkdguy, L. Marcus and death tribble
death tribble
Train journey was wonderful. First class travel means lots of space, multiple teas and coffees for free, and getting off the train first. When I got back the whole public space in the flats has been carpeted. Wonderful. tkdguy

lemming
Yesterday was nice, got a response from an application wanting references and while I was double checking that the info was correct, also pinged the head vet at my old job to see if I could use him as well. And he said of course. Same day, I was also asked if I wanted to start being paid for photography. (Would be more hours than what I've been doing on a volunteer basis.) Of course, I can only do one of these jobs, but for now the photo gig will help with the money situation. Burrito Boy, tkdguy and L.
