Where does Teh Bunneh live again? That looks suspiciously like the missle they used as the launch vehicle for The Phoenix in Star Trek: First Contact. Cancer
Re: "Neat" Pictures I find myself thinking about the two-part structure of the evacuated region. The rough sphere in contact with the muzzle is probably just the gases that (in air) make the muzzle flash, but the "rifled" striping on the long tail probably come at least in part from the spinning bullet entraining water downrange of the initial gas bubble. Once the bullet exits the barrel, it's going to cavitate a lot.
SteveZilla
Re: "Neat" Pictures I'm wondering why the bullet has apparently exited the barrel and turned downward It didn't. The gun is experiencing recoil that has tilted it upward.
Old Man
Re: "Neat" Pictures I'm wondering why the bullet has apparently exited the barrel and turned downward Bullets aren't designed to travel in water, so they're not stable in that medium. There's a youtube associated with that picture; in it, you can see that the bullet turns sideways almost immediately and comes apart. It only makes it 2-3 feet through the water.
