Lucius
Re: "Neat" Pictures World's Toughest Milkman Lucius Alexander the palindromedary says, move over Reid Fleming To give it some context: Plus, that photo was staged. The "milkman" is the photographer's assistant, with borrowed gear. It was featured in a historical magazine here a few months ago. SteveZilla
Re: "Neat" Pictures Argh' date=' flashbacks! Around 1990 we learned that 3M Blackwatch™ tape began a self destruction process after about 3 years of age. I spent many hours running those through 9-track tape drives trying to save irreplaceable astronomical and meteorological data. And in between I'd clean the 3M Blackwatch™ residue off the tape heads with alcohol. Good times.[/quote'] We never seemed to have a problem with any particular brand of tapes in my old job -- but every night a step on our checklist was to do a thorough cleaning of the tape drives (cabinets?) with alcohol and Q-tips. Kinda felt like being made to clean the toilet with a toothbrush... Bad tapes did crop up on occasion, but usually in the write process, and only very infrequently in a later read process. Our nightly backup job took about 20 of these tapes to complete.

MisterVimes
Re: "Neat" Pictures Ronnie Soak in a nutshell. And Lu-Tze read: ‘“And the Angel clothèd all in white opened the Iron Book, and a fifth rider appeared in a chariot of burning ice, and there was a snapping of laws and a breaking of bonds and the multitude cried ‘Oh God, we’re in trouble now!’”’ ‘That was me,’ said Ronnie proudly. Greywind
Re: "Neat" Pictures I've got a pic of one of those. It was on the hood of the car when I left my mom's house a couple of weeks ago. Happened to have my camera with me that night.

Cancer
Re: "Neat" Pictures We caught a mantis a few years ago in late summer and kept it, feeding it whatever insects we could. It lived about six weeks. It liked house flies, and really didn't like earwigs.

But Northern or Southern?
Bloodstone
Re: "Neat" Pictures Maybe it's a sign that you should cross-train in Praying Mantis style? But Northern or Southern? Well, I know of multiple Seven Star stylists in the city, so a Northern style would be easy to hunt down. There are actually three schools that teach kung fu within five minutes of my house, but they do Snake, Wing Chun/JFJKD and Northern Shaolin/Tai Ji Quan. Sadly, not sure when I'd have the time though. I already train at three different schools regularly during the week and I work out at/guest instruct at four other schools when time allows. Now if I could just quit my day job and make enough money doing what I really love
