Cancer Posted October 28, 2020 Report Share Posted October 28, 2020 I remembered this evening reading long ago that some pulsars have pulse frequencies which are in the regime where humans perceive rhythm easily, so I did the YouTube search thing. And, the presence of free electrons in space makes for interstellar dispersion, which means different frequencies of radio waves travel at very slightly different speeds, so depending on how you mix the radio frequencies to audio frequencies, you can get the oddly musical beats that you hear.
