Michael Hopcroft
Right now I'm listening to the Oakland A's hosting the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (I wish they were still the Anaheim Angels). The two teams are tied for first place in the American League West after tonight's game. (The A's won 2-1 with the winning run scored on a wild pitch in the ninth.) They end the series tomorrow night in a National TV (ESPN) game.

Michael Hopcroft
Portland geek-pop duo the Doubleclicks are about to launch their next tour, but before they left it was time to play some Magic. The background is that when they did the Kickstarter for their current album Dimetrodon one of the backer rewards was that if you went into the right category of backer you could suggest a song and they would cover it -- straight, as opposed to the satiric "Freebird" cover they did. This is one of them -- a Cure cover that works surprisingly well.
