Cancer
Remember the '92 games (I think it was)? There was a South American who scored a self-goal. He was not long for this world. Andres Escobar in the 1994 World Cup for Colombia, in a match against USA, which the US won 2-1 because of it.
Cancer
Brazil have won 5 World Cups and been finalists twice more. Italy are the most successful European team winning 4 times and being beaten finalists twice. Germany however have won 3 times but been beaten finalists 4 times. The Netherlands are unlucky. Three losses in the final. But from 1962 to 2006 the pattern was South America win, Europe win. This was broken by Spain who won the in 2010, succeeding Italy who had won in 2006. I have read commentary that it is set entirely by the conditions holding where the games are played. European teams win when the matches are played where it is cool enough to go full-bore solidly for 90 minutes. South American teams win when the matches are played where it is too hot to do that, and you have to marshal your endurance against the heat and play a less-paced controlling style until you draw the opponent out of their shape and then do the sudden sprint. Top-quality players can do either style, of course, but their performance does depend on what they are used to.

L. Marcus
Uwe Boll is still working. How ? Deploringly so. The answer is economics, I understand. Germany has very generous tax deductions for movies that don't earn back their investment, or something.
L. Marcus
How much STR do you need, in Hero terms, to crush a human skull with your bare hands? (GoT fans may understand why I ask.) Grab and Squeeze with 25 STR with a Haymaker -- 9d6, double the BODY for a Head shot.

Old Man
Branning would be appropriate. Moreso that Jaimeing or Viserysing. Theonning is an option but I really don't want to go there, on a bunch of levels.

Please don't harm of hands and fingers. We still need them for GRRM to write or type the ending... ...and the all lived happily ever after...the end. No, I won't fall into that trap again. I decided to get my top assistant Hennimore to carry out the intricacies of it.

Cancer
Part of the problem is that I don't know what time frame to expect. My mother parts with objective information about as easily as oysters part with pearls. She's been losing renal function for quite some time (she's been insulin-dependent for well over a decade). If the timescale is days, then I may not see her in time ... this is finals week and my final exam is Friday, so until Friday afternoon I am chained to my post. If it's longer than that, then ... it's different.
tkdguy
I know the feeling. My father lived with his condition for five years, and he had his good days and bad days. There were a lot of times I thought the end was near for him before he finally passed away. Best wishes and prayers for you and your mother. Stay strong. Old Man
Know the feeling. Yesterday I got the "I don't have long to live" phone call from my mom. Renal failure. Well, that puts my doomed marriage into perspective. Sorry to hear the news. I do hope that you are spared the cycle of ER visits that we went through with the mother-in-law, one way or another. BlueCloud2k2
Even with full Renal Failure, there is Dialysis. I've known people who lived for 20 years after Renal Failure on Dialysis. Granted, they literally couldn't travel anywhere without scheduling visits to a clinic ever two days, but they survived.
