Otherwise I just don't like the flavor. Habeñeros on the other hand, those are quite nice.

archermoo
Re: Musings on Random Musings ...You don't have taste buds or you don't have peppers? Nope, I can have both. Taste buds work just great, and I get to enjoy the peppers that I like.

lemming
Re: Musings on Random Musings Speaking of coffee' date=' you ever seen/tried using an Aeropress? I picked one up recently and it makes some seriously good coffee. We have like 5 other ways of making coffee at home, and since I got the Aeropress I've barely used any of them. Invented by the guy who came up with the Aerobie flying disk. Looks intriguing. I threw it on the wish list which is the "Do I have some discretionary income?" list. archermoo
Re: Musings on Random Musings I'm with you. Habeñeros have a much more interesting flavor. When I was regularly going to "A Taste of Colorado" (i.e. when I still lived in Denver) there was a guy who had a booth with a wide variety of different kinds of beef jerky. I always made sure I got some of his habeñero stuff. Can't eat much at a time, but VERY tasty. I need to pick up some fresh ones one of these days and see about doing some cooking with 'em. Though I'd be eating anything I made myself as Keri, while not actually a total spice wimp, doesn't like hot food nearly as much as I do. archermoo
Re: Musings on Random Musings Looks intriguing. I threw it on the wish list which is the "Do I have some discretionary income?" list. Unlike other methods of brewing a better cuppa I've seen, the product tastes like very good coffee. Rather than tasting like a nice coffee flavored beverage.

Jenn gets up about three hours before me and despite her culinary training, can't make coffee by any method. We think it's a genetic block, her dad makes the worst coffee ever. I've watched him use the same method and ingredients I do, and his tastes like bilge water. So Mr. Coffee is set so she just turns it on when she gets up. I then reheat some later and if I need more, I use the french press. Which I think today will require.

Cancer
Re: Musings on Random Musings I can't drink iced coffee either, unless it's so heavily doped with other stuff that the coffee is a side additive, not the drink. If conditions are too hot for Real Coffee, I'll take my caffeine in a cold carbonated solution.
lemming
Re: Musings on Random Musings Well, in my view, it really depends on how it's made, but then, a cold, dark, bitter brew works for me.

What does it say about your life when you buy a Post Apocalypse novel and recognize one of the main characters as a fictionalized version of one of your old friends?
