teh bunneh
Re: Musings on Random Musings EDIT: OK, that came across as a little more mean-spirited than I intended. It's just that this wall-to-wall snow coverage is getting a little thick, y'know? I mean, if Colorado or Kansas or Michagan or Maine gets a record-breaking snowfall that shuts the state down for a week, we're lucky if it gets a brief mention on page 12 of the national papers. Why? Because it's a local weather story. No one cares. But DC gets a record-breaking snowfall that shuts down the city for a week, and it's ZOMG TEH SNOWPOCALYPSE!!!!eleven1!! It's not the snowpocalypse. It's a local weather story, same as if it happened in Denver or Madison or Kansas City. Unless, of course, the next time the mid-west gets a record-breaking snowfall that shuts down a state for a week, the media are going to treat it like a story. But we all know that they won't; they'll treat it like a local weather story... because, you know, it is. Just like the DC storm is. Just getting a little tired of the hype and the hyperbole. Y'all stay safe, and stay warm. But it ain't the end of the world; it's just a blizzard. I promise you, in a couple of days you'll be able to go and get your bacon double cheeseburger again. [/quote'] I hear what you're saying, but the fact remains that this is way more than just a local weather story. In the 15 years I've lived in DC, I've seen maybe 3 or 4 snowstorms shut things down for a day or two, tops. But we are going on six consecutive days of being snowed in. In this area, this kind of weather is unheard of. I mean, we still have another month of winter to go, and we've already had more snowfall this winter than in any of the past 100. lemming
Re: Musings on Random Musings I wonder if most cases of "cabin fever" aren't really so much' date=' "I want to go out and I can't." I wonder if they are really, "If I actually did want to go out, I couldn't." Most folks I know are homebodies who stay at home 9 nights out of 10, but if the weather shuts them indoors even for just a day or two, they get all antsy -- even if they wouldn't normally want to go out at all. [/quote'] I hate it when I can't go out, but I notice I get antsy if I stay home for too long. I was on the road constantly up thru last year. Last five months, haven't gone anywhere. It was driving me batty. On a short trip right now, but not sure if it will help much.

Told them it was wrong to eat from one plant, but didn't give them the ability to distinguish right from wrong, and furthermore, made that same plant able to give them that ability?
