Bazza
Alchemy is just an attempt at chemistry without the bother of Conservation of Mass. chemistry is just an attempt at alchemy ignoring the enlightened transmutation into gold of the experimenter. Bazza
Actually, at really long distances, gravity is really the only force worth talking about. And since Cancer and I are in different (although adjacent) time zones.... nah..stick together like magnetism.
L. Marcus
chemistry is just an attempt at alchemy ignoring the enlightened transmutation into gold of the experimenter. Gold can cause heavy metal poisoning, so that's not something you want to happen to you.

Bazza
Gold can cause heavy metal poisoning, so that's not something you want to happen to you. you wouldn't make a good alchemist, as you misunderstand the allegory and metaphor behind the transmutation of gold. Cancer
One usually doesn't think about sending reinforcements below ground, but I can see how that might be needed in a cleverly-run adventure.
Bazza
Good strong magnets embedded below ground would cause havoc to a charging medieval army wearing plate armour. If the magnets are "attractive" the metal in the armour will pin the knight to the ground, and if the magnet is "repulsive" it creates a force field against attack. The trick is to get strong magnets and bury them == that is where magic comes in, probably. edit: works best against a siege of a castle or other fortified position.
