Yeah, I haven't found any. The unquenchable Wikipedia has a list of French communes with populations of 20,000 or more, and when you sort alphabetically by name, there's nothing that starts in U. Ditto a list of departments. I couldn't even find a Paris Metro station that started with U. Their universities all seem to be ______ University rather than University of ______ which is a cheap way out but even that didn't work.

 

(My daughter has an assignment in her French class to assemble an alphabet of French place names, and had trouble finding K, U, W, X, Y, and Z. K and Z we took are of with metro stations. There's a place or two in Alsace-Lorraine that are on the French side of the border but have Germanic names that start with W. For Y I told her to use the Yser river, which is mostly in Belgium but has a bit of its length in France. For U and X we cheated, using names that end in those letters rather than start with them, and there's lots of both of those.
