L. Marcus
Re: The Last Word I heard said -- years ago -- that American companies use Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia as test markets before going live in the US.
Cancer
Re: The Last Word I think the Scandinavian countries aren't unique in that regard, but yes, I've heard the same. No one would be silly enough to test-market in Scandinavia something aimed at the Hispanic population, for example. (Let me qualify that: I am sure that mistake has been made in the past and they may have learned that doesn't work well.) In general Europe is nice for test-markets because you can reach a large population through fewer media outlets, and if the product or ad campaign bombs it doesn't matter because USers pay approximately zero attention to what happens outside the Lower 48. Bazza
Re: The Last Word No. I wish! But still no. Trying to come up with something to complicate you now. Yes I am an avid Vegemite user, though not collector of lids.
Cancer
Re: The Last Word What is Vegemite really intended and used for? I assume it's an industrial lubricant of some kind, or perhaps it's a dry-in-the-sun adhesive for arid near-tropical climates. It certainly isn't edible; that's a myth set up to make foreign visitors look foolish when they visit Australia.
