And a lot of it is nice' date=' expensive stuff so I can't just give it to Goodwill.[/quote'] Even if you do, you can get receipts and take them off you r taxes. SatinKitty
Re: The Last Word Unfortunately, as they were all gifts, I don't know what they are worth. I guess I would have to research what a sterling silver ladle 14 years old is worth now, etc. for the rest. I have a lot of glassware and Goodwill doesn't care if it breaks. I think I'll go the consignment shop route.

Cancer
Re: The Last Word What is this "too much stuff" concept of which you speak (said the man who is a firm believer in the Mound Theory of Storage)?
AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word For someone who's moved as often as you have, that's a bizarre statement.
Cancer
Re: The Last Word Well, perhaps I should say, "too much stuff you want to keep". My perspective on stuff is a little warped, I admit, since I have a few bits of almost literal trash that I hang on to for personal antiquity's sake alone. Hmm. It'll be 25 years since the Great Fire in a few weeks.
AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word Five years since ours. We just rooted through all our receipts and tossed out all the non-essentials. As we don't itemize our taxes, it was ridiculous to hold onto the vast majority of them. Josh was positively energized by reducing that ten pounds of clutter. Cancer
Re: The Last Word We do itemize, so the paper trail is thicker. Also, both of us are lazy slobs.

Cancer
Re: The Last Word Some parts are really nice. The far north, the area through which the Clearwater runs, and the mountains approaching the Continental Divide. I'm not real thrilled with the southern part where it levels out some; that where most of the population lives.
