AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word I used to carry money I was about to use between my teeth, if my hands were full. I know better now. I just don't carry the stuff at all. If they don't take my check card, they must not want my money.
L. Marcus
Re: The Last Word . . . I saw a check about a month ago, and that was the first one I'd seen in at least a year. Only little old ladies use them. Cash or debet/credit cards rule.
Cancer
Re: The Last Word I use cash at convenience stores and fast food joints. It's way too common for a manager or assistant manager to help themselves to your credit card data, and it seems to happen more at the high-flow low-tab places. It hasn't happened to me yet, but one week I heard four entirely independent reports of a McD's asst manager biting different people with credit card fraud. AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word I do all the register training at my company, and I explain why we have certain security protocols in place. Most people are rather shocked at just what they could do with a busy spring day's credit card receipts. Never occurred to them. I do not encourage them to try it, and tell them the horrible things that would happen if they even THOUGHT about it.

I haven't actually been struck by lightning, but I was close enough to feel the sizzle, and smell ozone. It struck where I'd been standing a few moments before.
