His name is more correctly rendered "Sealth", but "Seattle" was stuck long before that nicety was recognized. It has been pointed out that while the white settlers did this to honor him, he probably was horrified; in his culture, speaking someone's name after their death was bad, and interfered adversely in their afterlife. I usually avoid "nonfiction" books about alternate universes, since the science those are based on is all too often untested (if not outright untestable) hooey way out in the theoretical boondocks.
