Bazza
Re: The Last Word I have a theory about Dark Energy Yes' date=' Miss Elk?[/quote'] First of all it is Emeritus Professor Elk to you. And it is not a formal theory, and by theory I mean "speculative intent of where an explanation may be found", or more loosely "there is something here worth investigating further". Knowledge of this is based on scientific and non-scientific* sources. I would have to philosophize further before I could put it in some semblance of a coherent idea. That is if you are still interested in the ramblings of a self-confessed amateur philosopher. *paranormal or sources not recognized [yet ] by science. lemming
Re: The Last Word In English, 'zzyzx', apparently. It's a location in Southern California. Information from the internets, so... It's on the way from Barstow to Las Vegas in the middle of the desert. I've driven by a few times lately on the way to LA and San Diego. It's a closed down settlement: Zzyzx settlement

Narf the Mouse
Re: The Last Word According to the webpage I read, he named it that deliberately to see if he could slip it past the government. Of course, internets and stuff.
Cancer
Re: The Last Word I wouldn't think any government entity would bat an eye at that. It's not obviously profane, obscene, or subversive; if you go through the right channels, they're likely to be OK with it.

Cancer
Re: The Last Word There was a time (working at NCSA) when I named all my working files in the scratch area starting with "zzz" because then I didn't have to pipe the ls output through more or grep to find my stuff. Just blast the output to the screen with default settings, and all my stuff was there where I could see it.
lemming
Re: The Last Word I don't think the government care at all about the name, just that he wasn't paying attention to the rules of the area. They didn't bother to rename stuff after arresting him.

Cancer
Re: The Last Word In the technical sense of the word "work", stupidity never performs work, but it certainly causes the inverse to happen, so in the non-technical sense, it is almost certain that stupidity is affecting things.
