lemming
Re: The Last Word Living in the Real World - Blondie Every day you've go to wake up and disappear behind your makeup. Take away your calendar watch and you can't keep track until your heart attack. Hey, I'm living in a magazine, page to page in my submarine! Hey now, Cindy, you can't get to me, need an elevator. Hey, I'll see you later, 'cause I'm not living in the real world. I'm not living in the real world. I'm not living in the real world, no more, no more. Yeah. I can be whatever I want to. I talk to me, I even agree. Every day's a holiday. You can look through the glass and take a photograph. You will never ever walk on the moon, leave your body and float through the room. You could never conquer me, 'cause I'm not here and you're not there. And, and I'm not living in the real world. I'm not living in the real world. I'm not living in the real world, no more, no more. Yeah. Didn't I ever tell you I was gone? Didn't I ever tell you I was gone? Bye bye! I can do anything at all. I'm invisible and I'm twenty feet tall. Pull the plug on your digital clock and it all goes dark and the bodies stop. Hey, I'm living in a magazine, page to page in my teenage dream. Hey, now, Mary, you can't follow me, without a satellite. I'm on a power flight 'cause I'm not living in the real world. I'm not living in the real world. I'm not living in the real world, no more, no more. I'm not living in the real world. I'm not living in the real world. I'm not living in the real world, no more, no more, no more. No more, no more, no more. No more, no more, no more.

Cancer
Re: The Last Word please explain/paraphrase (again) OK, but this one will be rougher. You make a grave error if you think scientists are strict rationalists, excluding all taint of mysticism from their thoughts and the way they approach their studies of choice. Cancer
Re: The Last Word No, relief will come only when I spawn a new multi-paragraph bolus of confusion. For past examples, search for NGD posts by me with the word "stochasticity".

Cancer
Re: The Last Word Unfortunately, the simplest search for that nets you paragraphs which have the color change to "teal" in them, as well as those with just the word "deer". And far too many of those lead off into the election threads, and I ain't goin' there.

Cancer
Re: The Last Word The phrase "deer-in-the-headlights look" triggers as a hit, and there's a bunch of that.

Cancer
Re: The Last Word Well, I think it's giving me teal OR deer. I'm not sure I know how to force it to give me only hits with teal AND deer. Though it's worth point out that your initial mention appears at the top of the hit list. You make a grave error if you think scientists are strict rationalists, excluding all taint of mysticism from their thoughts and the way they approach their studies of choice. so do scientists, do or do not study internal (esoteric*) space? *defined as within? Oh and scientists have had belief in god and angels etc but as far as I know, none have charted that space like one finds in books on mysticism. Newton was one who straddled both "worlds". There is nothing that precludes scientists from being mystics and vice versa. A scientist would typically be predisposed to ask the mystic for testable evidence of their experiences/conclusions etc.
