lemming
Re: The Last Word Well, bummer. I have a lot of vacation time saved up, my wife doesn't. She said I should take some time off and I hadn't thought about it, but GenCon is this month. Unfortunately, the same weekend I need to be at a work event. So now I need to decide what to do with 60 hours of PTO...
AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word Olympics? Apparently, they're not very interesting. Josh and I were listening to a piece on NPR about how tourism in China is actually DOWN, compared to last year.

Cancer
Re: The Last Word Feh. If they covered any interesting events I might watch, but the Secret Masters of Pedophilia insist on filling hours with "womens" gymnastics, and I have completely given up any sort of judged events. AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word I was once in gymnastics. But I had no sense of balance, so I figured it would be best left up to the pros. Still did cartwheels and handstands on the front lawn, though.
Cancer
Re: The Last Word I was OK at baseball until my vision deteriorated, and even after that I tended to be the Most Versatile Player in a Hitless Role. I can field, I can throw, but can't see well enough to make contact.
AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word I played softball way back in elementary school. But being able to actually hit the ball was more about luck than anything else. Lack of depth perception does NOT help with hitting-a-ball-with-a-big-stick kind of games. Cancer
Re: The Last Word The last time I played a game was on All Fools Day, a bit more than five months before I got married. I tore a calf muscle and was taken to the hospital. My fiance was Not Amused. But worse, the anti-inflammatory they gave me tore hell out of my stomach lining and gave me an ulcer, and I ended up having to forswear all alcohol all summer so that it'd be back in shape to take the champagne toast come September.
