Bazza
Re: The Last Word Are you done with it now' date=' or do you usually watch movies in pieces?[/quote'] Generally if it is a DVD yes. I'd watch a bit then watch another bit (about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes), particularly if it is a long film (over 2 hours). And I almost always watch it with subtitles (english for the hearing imparied) not that I am hearing impaired, I like reading the dialogue occasionally. I find it helps understand the plot and storyline.

I was having shakes, but I just attributed those to my fear of heights + glass elevators + 41st floor.

I must sat last night I watched About A Boy all the way through with no breaks. A charming movie, to be sure. Runaway Jury was interupted by lunch, and then a friend coming over. That too was a good suspenceful film.

Movies are made to be viewed all at once (except Gone With the Wind), and so I view them all at once. Chances are good I've forgotten half of it after I've turned it off, anyway. AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word [sarcasm] You must dislike commercial tv. all those ads must make it difficult for you to remember the show before each ad brake [/sarcasm] I dislike TV, and don't watch it. I prefer to watch shows on DVD. I find ads insidious, pernicious and patronizing. And TV is meant to be watched passively. They've proven that one's brain is less active watching TV than doing any other activity. If I want my brain to take a nap, I'll go to sleep. At least the dreams are interesting. AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word True. Weird, violent dreams CAN wake a person up, but I've never had a stranger time than when I have dreams so boring I wake myself up to escape them. Everything's thrown off.
