Old Man
This NEW feature has already taken 2 days for 2 programmers, and we ain't finished yet. Just throw more programmers at it. You know how you can get nine women to make a baby in one month? Same thing. Pattern Ghost and Pariah
gewing
I hate having to use Steam to be able to play games, particularly ones that I paid for the DVD version. Tonight Steam crashed, and apparently it is on their end. So now I cannot even play the games I own the disks for. I worked a long day, and was looking forward to a little relaxation. Thanks a lot, Steam. Their program seems to crash out frequently, the "syncing" mode will often keep me from using any of the games run through it for a very annoying period, and now this. I could really start to hate them.
Pattern Ghost
Cho died tonight, at just a hair over 14 and a half years old. I took her up to the vet for cremation just a moment ago. I asked the vet what the date was when I first brought her up there for emergency treatment. Turns out it was exactly 2 years ago tonight, and very close on the clock. I guess she was trying to tell me that it was just her time. Nah, what am I saying, she was a lizard. AN AWESOME LIZARD!

FrankL
I'm sorry for your loss. One reason I don't have any pets is because of those losses in the past. Here's to Poncho, best Blue Heeler ever. Here's to Chippy, a sheep dog who performed better without training than many dogs with it. Point. "Bring me that one." And he would. Here's to Fluff, if he hadn't gone insane,* he would have had many more years of guarding the pasture and flock that he loved. *He started killing my grandfather's cattle. We had to put him down. Old Man
Was Fluff a dog? Killing...cows? My blanket decree forbidding death applies to pets too. I'm very cross. And sad.
FrankL
Was Fluff a dog? Killing...cows? My blanket decree forbidding death applies to pets too. I'm very cross. And sad. Yes. Great Pyrenees sheep dog. He was a few years old and full grown (100+ pounds). They have been selected for their natural protective instinct that allows them to guard any flock/herd animal. That he was killing calves meant something was very wrong with him. He couldn't be trusted around people after that either. There might have been suspicions of rabies. tkdguy
In other news, why is it so effing hard to effing find a good set of buttons that match my blazer and my overcoat? You'd think a tailor worth his salt would have the supplies in his shop, but no, I have to buy the both sets myself and then bring them in! Xavier Onassiss
About ten years ago I had to move suddenly, and a good friend adopted my cat, Tyler. He messaged me a couple of days ago to inform me Tyler had passed on. Inoperable cancer. He was about 12 years old. Best cat ever. Friendly, smart, and (mostly) well-behaved. I've always missed him. RIP, old buddy.

Ternaugh
I actually LOLed at this. My moment was a few years back when I heard an easy listening version of Enter Sandman in an elevator. We have a senior appreciation day each week at the casino, and the ambient music mix generally changes to match the 50+ target demographic. That used to mean a mix of 50s, 60s, and 70s music, but I've noticed that it's now starting to skew into early 80s music. The other day, I caught a Madonna tune in the mix. gewing
I am being retrained to a new role at work. at least 3 times the work, no increase in pay... Theoretically the training could be marketable... theoretically.
Ternaugh
Yup, I see on your notes that "the employee checked the cables", but did you actually ask him? Because if you did, you probably would have found that the printer was physically connected to another workstation. Cancer
