Cancer
I find Old Man's post of 14 October, #13262 above, funny, as it's a link to the latest projected track (so the image is changing daily) for a former hurricane that is now much closer to me than him. As I type this it isn't projected to make landfall, but its remants could end up on us here.

Cancer
Well, dunno about dive, but part of the Big Island is moving out of the way of a lava flow (see here ) as it approaches Pāhoa. That isn't too far (as in, it's the nearest named town) from where we were back in February.
Cancer
Oh, and to continue the winning weekend vehicular trend, my car wouldn't start this morning. Made it to my 8AM class with ten minutes to spare. Time to goose the research into new cars upward on the priority scale, I guess.

death tribble
Doctor told me to see a skin specialist. Nearest one can't see me for 2 months. Next nearest could see me in a week. I ring up and they can book me in on 17th November which is after my next check up with the Doctor. Ho hum.

Cancer
Your targeting needs to be more accurate (and lethal radius smaller) than the distance between your home base and your target (even your back-up target). Substantially so. Remember the thermonuclear hand grenade problem? In this case, that 190-km separation is a bit of an issue.
Old Man
lethal radius smaller I don't understand.
Vurbal
So now it seems I'm moving on from arguing with my doctor about pain meds to seeing a pain management specialist. Mostly I suspect it's because he's come to the realization I'm not going to let him drastically change dosages, like dropping it by more than 80 percent, without bothering to ask me basic questions. You know, like 'what's your pain level?' No, really, I called today about picking up a new prescription and made a point of telling his nurse that if it was less than the previous one I expected to talk to Dr. Neff myself first. Less than two hours later, by far the fastest I've heard back from him mind you, his nurse called back to let me know she set up an appointment with a pain management specialist. It's just as well since I'm sure I was about to get into it about his bizarre insistence that he has the foggiest idea how much pain I 'should' be in, considering nearly every detail of my history is an outlier, and the totality is different from any patient he's ever seen. Cancer
Dunno if this belongs here, because I'm laughing. Drove the wife to her car (which had been stolen, as I think I posted here) Saturday evening, drove home. Parked my car on the street, as we have no garage. Monday morning, 0630, car wouldn't start. Took a bus to work. Got home too late to open it up and look under the hood. Same deal Tuesday. Today I went home early. Open the hood. There's a frickin' rat's nest atop the engine. I caught a glimpse of the critter's tail ducking down through the engine compartment. Cleaning it out, there's some gnawed-thru wiring, explaining the non-starting. Yeesh. tkdguy
I can't seem to leave the house without someone or something putting me in a bad mood. There's always, always something that has to ruin my mood, even when I'm supposed to be having fun. I return home angry, when I should have been happy. Little wonder I think people should just die. I think I'm going to stop doing all the things I'm supposed to be enjoying, since I obviously can't enjoy them anymore.

tkdguy
Some stupid debt collector keeps calling for someone who doesn't live here. We've told her not to call anymore, but she keeps at it. I've already reported her to the FTC via email. And we got call blocker, only to find out it doesn't work for out-of-state callers. You'd think the phone company would have mentioned that! I'm going to call the FTC tomorrow and speak to an actual person. I'm tired of this crap. There's a reason Debt Collectors are hated almost universally even by those who aren't technically in debt. They're one of the many symptoms of the 'guilty until proven innocent' illness in our country, and no power on earth, not even logic or facts, seem to move many of them. tkdguy

I just sent them a cease & desist letter. Legally, they need to stop calling after they receive it. If they don't, I'll report them not just to the FTC, but also the BBB and even the Attorney General, since calling after receiving a written letter to stop is illegal. If that doesn't work, the next time they call, I'll blow an airhorn at the speaker when they're talking. Enforcer84 and L. Marcus
