Re: The cranky thread

I don't like to complain. I really don't. I prefer to be zen and just let life bebop along.

However life has been most unkind to me lately.

To whit, last friday (the 8th) was my birthday. In the span of time from then to now, I have:

Been diagnosed with an Umbilical hernia

Burned the bottoms of both feet (blisters are slowly recovering)

gotten an eviction notice (Newly moved into a place, this was the first month they took rent out, it turned out to be a computer glitch)

Slowly drowning in debt with GenCon still looming

And the capper of it all is... tomorrow morning is my divorce trial date.

I don't normally drink, but in the past week I've drained a bottle of rum and a bottle of whiskey.....

Having gone through and not-quite-exited my own wringer of similar events, you have my deepest sympathy. If things get bad, remember you have friends who are praying (or similar) on your behalf.

That and (VOE), if you find yourself mentally asking if you need professional help, you probably do. Treatment helps, and sometimes they can recommend services that can help you reduce some of your expenses.

PM me if you want commiseration. :drink:

Re: The cranky thread

Developments in Mum's hit-and-run case : A woman has come forward claiming responsibility. She *says* she thought she'd hit a speed bump or curb. It's only total co-incidence that she went to have her car crushed the very next day. She further claims that it was her boyfriend - the one the police are after for parole violation and giving a false address - who suggested getting the car crushed, but she doesn't know where he is, since they broke up.

She's pleading not guilty. I don't think that's going to work, do you?

Let's hope not.

She'd have better luck pleading "stupid". At least that would be believable...

Re: The cranky thread

My knee is stiff. I think it's Arthritis. I don't want to go up and down stairs but I have to to do the laundry. Going up and down these stairs is the only exercise I get, but it hurts right now and I might be making it worse. I just put on a knee brace. I hope it helps.

The knee brace is a good idea. Taking some anti-inflammation/pain meds would also be a good idea. But you might want to check with a doctor -- there are lots of things besides arthritis that might cause knee stiffness/pain, and fortunately some of them aren't as bad as arthritis.

(I was diagnosed with "patellofemoral syndrome" about 15 years ago -- it turned out to be very treatable.)

Re: The cranky thread

I've been having problems with my knees and feet as well. They hurt especially at night when I'm trying to sleep.

I get Restless Leg Syndrome where my ankle doesn't hurt, it itches inside and I have to keep moving it and therefore can't sleep. I was on a med to stop it but it was a Narcotic and it made my eyes look tired and drugged. I am now taking a similar med which leaves my eyes clear but does not stop RLS. Between the two things I'm not sure which is worse.

Gawd, not another Doctor. I guess you're right but with my cough it's like I'm 85 years old with all the Doctors I'm seeing.

Well, I'd normally just say keep the brace on and load up on Alleve (5 or 6 a day) like I do, and see what happens... but I know from your posts here you're on a few other meds already, and unexpected interactions can be dangerous, so I'm reluctant to give off-hand advice. Asking a doctor who's got your medical history and knows what he's doing is probably the way to go.

My Ear Nose and Throat Doc said lay off the Alleve. OddHat just bought a bunch of Tylenol' date=' which is allowed. Anyway you're probably right. I should call the Orthopedist on Monday.[/quote']

Given the cornucopia of medications you're on, are you sure you don't have any superpowers? I mean, with that many rolls on the potion miscibility table, surely there's been some permanent effect?
