Longest Running Thread EVER

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

Wow, doesn't anyone do this any more?

Back in the mid-80's, one of the things everyone (that I knew) did to maintain their sanity through the Reagan years was compile a "wall list", that is, a list of people to go up against the wall and get shot when the revolution hit. Debating the relative order of those appearing in the lists was a source of great discussion, kind of like the Random Musings thread before the Web made such things trivial.

you lost me at 80's :D

However thanks for the history lesson. So it was like a reverse Nixon enemies list? :)

Not sure if you get my two references. The first' date=' Apple HQ's residential address is 1 infinite loop, based from programming jargon. The second is Buzz Lightyear's catchphrase, the first Toy Story, Steve Jobs was executive producer.[/quote']

When I was learning Fortran programming back in the 1970s, I had quite a few programs time out. To put it another way: I cannot count the times I caused infinite loops to happen. :straight:

Nearest Ikea to me is four hours, and the one I picked the catalog from is 12 hours. Everytime my wife and I have moved, an Ikea has been put down near where we lived. Though that's really only twice, once in the SF Bay area, and then from Portland. I do wonder where they'll put it if we move from Kanab.

Does anyone know of an IT openings? Preferably a management job since that is what my degree is in, but at this point, I'm not going to be picky. Location would be the Sacramento, CA area, but I'm willing to commute. I just have to get out of my current job before it kills me.

Nope, not off hand.

Have you tried any of the silicon valley companies/startups?

are you on LinkedIn? Apparently a lot of IT jobs are negotiated that way.
