the physical urn always stays in England expect for a rare time when it came to Australia. It is more a metaphoric thing when the Aussies or England win the Ashes. but this time the English won the series, and in a few months another Ashes series starts, this time in Australia.

The Ashes, as well as Test match cricket (IIRC) was founded in 1877 between England and Australia. When Australia beat the English team in England in 1882, a newspaper published a mock obit on the "ashes" of English cricket. (link to in a satirical obituary). Also worth noting that many of these original cricket grounds are still being played on after over a century (Lords, The Oval, SCG, MCG etc).

Personally' date=' I find it hard to get my pulse up over cricket. To each his or her own, eh?[/quote'] well of course, unless you are in a nation that has the tradition you won't get excited by it. No different to Aussies and Canada's national sport ice hockey, or even America with gridiron.

what is the national sport in Sweden? #clueless.
