Cancer
See "Flying Cars", appendix C.
L. Marcus
Leave the appendix alone! It gets a bad enough rap.
Cancer
Yeah, but a flying car isn't getting anywhere close to my coccyx, and that's the vestigal bit that springs to mind.

Pariah
Craniorectal impaction, you mean?
Cancer
No, more of the urge to denounce messily in public instead of making reasoned statements and be open for considered honest dialog. But I'm a heretic, so what do I know.
L. Marcus
It could be worse. You could be a Young Earth Creationist Flat Earther.

Bazza
I'm still waiting for Almagest 2.
Cancer
I don't think it is physically possible to create a document, using current knowledge, with the same scope as the original Almagest now. Many orders of magnitude more knowledge. You could create something that purported to be something like it, but it would be incomplete or incorrect in other ways. Bazza
Cool. So an Almagest 2.0 would have to be a series, albeit some that is incomplete. (Additional discussion in The Last Word)

Cancer
The promotion document requires me to create something I have steadfastly avoided composing in any durable form, a statement of teaching philosophy. Sigh. Well, I'll cite Whitman in it, not sure what else.
