Cancer
Which Ed? Not sure, but it's pre-5th. The "campaign" -- a series of once or twice a year con events with the same backstory and player characters -- has been going on since the 1980s. This is only the second tome I have played in it. L. Marcus
At six ay em today, I was one hour away from finishing night shift. Mang, were my eyelids heavy!
Pariah
At 0600 hours today, I had already missed my bus in to work. So I walked about 1.5 km to the light rail station and came in that way instead.
L. Marcus
Why not walk every day?
Cancer
Ideally, I am at the bus stop at 0600 awaiting the imminent arrival of the bus that delivers me a couple blocks from my office. This morning, though, I lazed a bit, because I gave a test today, and I had already printed it off and had everything ready. So the usual hour or so prep time I build into my routine wasn't needed. Pariah
Always nice with some Me Time. That's part of the reason I like taking public transportation. I can put in headphones, read a bit, and not worry about driving. (Plus, the drivers here are [redacted].)
L. Marcus
A minor local celebrity down in Umeå is Omar, the Reggae Bus Driver. Playing his favorite music loudly, whistling happily as he drives his routes as if he stole the bus. Pariah
Old Man
That's part of the reason I like taking public transportation. I can put in headphones, read a bit, and not worry about driving. (Plus, the drivers here are [redacted].) Public transportation things I have experienced that I do not have to deal with in my own car: Late buses and trains Cancelled buses and trains Having my precise departure and arrival times dependent on an outside entity Shrieking children (that don't belong to me) Shrieking lunatics (aside from my wife) Puddles of urine on the seats Crowds of wild high school kids Criminals Hygiene-optional fellow commuters Garbage Graffiti Overly outgoing people who just won't STFU A/C that is either "arctic" or "nonfunctional" Stopping Every Fifty Feet For Every Bus Stop And Stop Light And Traffic That guy with the skin diseases
Pariah
Admittedly, there is a certain amount of that going on. But it's pretty minimal, in my experience. Plus, I'm 6'3" (190 cm) and 285# (130 kg), so I've never really had anyone offer to start any particular unpleasantness with me.
