Cancer
It also conveys correctly that I recognize the laugh, but had forgotten the name of the character who did it.
L. Marcus
Ah. Much more reasonable!
Cancer
Hm. I was overdue for a tetanus booster. That has been corrected.
L. Marcus
Was there a pressing need?
Cancer
No, but my last booster had been in 2002.

L. Marcus
It never left. It's got the loft all to itself.
Cancer
Yeah, I sit in the corner under the table flapping my hands for a couple hours every day, shot or no shot.

Cancer
Hm. Work email seems to be dead. Wonder if our glorious hireling IT staff is aware of this, since no one can email them a trouble ticket.
L. Marcus
I guess they are nowhere near campus?
Cancer
Oh, there's a human-staffed helpdesk right down the hall, but it won't open until 8AM. My class starts at 8AM, so unless it magically clears itself in the next 38 minutes I won't be able to report it for about two hours. Cancer
I managed to talk to someone, so they at least know about it. Which the guy I talked to didn't at the time.
L. Marcus
The flow on information cannot be halted! That's a lie, all it takes is an unplugged cable, or a spilled drink in the wrong place ...
Cancer
Well, I have learned that the problem is not universal: one of my colleagues is able to read his. EDIT: OK, more info: one of the two faculty mail servers is down. So half of us can't read mail. That, actually, is a state I have experienced before, elsewhere, but the mail system was different so the error message was not one I recognized. Cancer
Had one of my better students ask me something, and all I could do was send her a reply that starts "That's more complicated that you probably wanted to know, actually," and attached a PDF from the Journal of Chemical and Physical Reference Data with pointers to figures on the 3rd and 8th pages in the PDF. Cancer
Since this is for an algebra-based physics course (as opposed to physics with calculus), yes.
