Cancer
Barely. The Doors' heyday was just before I was started to listen to popular music.

Pariah
* cues up the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" * Were you ever a The Doors fan? Meh. I think both the Rolling Stones and the Doors are overrated. I can think of about three Stones songs I like, maybe fewer, depending on the day. As for the Doors, pick a song, any song . . . because they all sound the same.

Cancer
The Stones didn't appeal to me all that much back in the day, with a handful of just dynamite exceptions. The Doors I have a soft spot for because they were big when I first listened to popular music (and therefore got significant play at the first dance I went to). Do I listen to either of them now on an extended basis (e.g., the CD in the player in the car)? No. But there are a few of each on the iPod, along with lots and lots of other stuff. Old Man
I, too, prefer songs to bands. That said I respect the Stones for what they were at the time--radically socially unacceptable. Today, of course, they're easy listening. As is Metallica.
L. Marcus
Metallica lost me after the black album.
Old Man
Which gets back to the whole "songs not bands" thing. Certainly their percentage went down, but there are some phenomenal tracks on Load, Reload, Garage Inc., and even Death Magnetic.
L. Marcus
I've gotten the impression that they almost exclusively play their older music when on tour.
Bazza
Add me to the group who is not a fan of both Stones & Doors. And U2, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana (and anything of Grohl's) & Elvis Presley.
