Bazza
Steely Dan just never did it for me. *checks to see if Steve Long is around* me too.
Cancer
I can't say I like their stuff unreservedly, but a few things of theirs are really good. "Hey Nineteen" was really a sort of a lament for themselves ("She thinks I'm crazy/But I'm just growing old") which at times I find deeply resonant, and their "Doctor Wu" is something from earlier in their careers that I could have written about myself at a few times in my life. OTOH, probably the single cut of theirs that I give the most play to is "Bodhisattva", which is just a rock-out song with no meaning. Pariah
Toto did a pretty decent cover of Bodhisattva on their tribute/covers album a few years ago.

Cancer
I just want my own unit of flying monkeys. The baboons piloting F/A-18s kind.
L. Marcus
Baboons are vicious. I wouldn't trust them with military-grade equipment.

Pariah
Toto is a better band than people think. They were among the most active session musicians in the world in the 70s and 80s, and with good reason. Most people are only familiar with "Africa" and "Rosanna", and maybe "Hold the Line". Judging Toto by those three songs alone is akin to judging the Beatles by "Please Please Me" and "I Saw Her Standing There".
Cancer
I guess I can believe that, because you named the only three Toto songs I can dredge out of my memory.
L. Marcus
I thought those were the only three Toto songs.

Pariah
Uh, no. "99 Red Balloons" by Nena (English version) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRFyKRlPfEg "99" by Toto https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyLoEPQxy3I
Cancer
OK, I remember 99, though I would not have guessed that was Toto if I had been put in the position of listening to it and then guessing the artist.
Old Man
I always used to get Toto and Styx mixed up. They sound exactly the same to me. They're part of this whole Toto-Styx-Foreigner-Kansas synth rock continuum that I just can't distinguish.
