lemming
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER One of my prior jobs, 200/day was the usual. Though I had some decent filters up so that I didn't have to deal with 90% of them.

Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER The filters here aren't bad (if anything, I find they are set a bit too tight; I've had things I wanted to receive and knew had been sent to me get filtered out). But lots of them are emitted by various University offices who have a greatly inflated opinion of the importance of their activities, and those don't get filtered. L. Marcus
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER My student e-mail is great -- I never get spam of any kind! I did get a call on my cell phone a while ago -- some salesman wanted me to not believe that stock funds' dividends aren't predictable from their histories. I fear he wanted my retirement money (such as they are).
Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER We changed our phone provider about four months ago and have caller ID now which we didn't before. Though there's enough ID spoofing or blocking that is done to make it less than completely useful.

lemming
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Oh when I was talking about filters, it was filtering what work email went into what bucket. Autoreport email about some automation went one way if routine. Certain people's email were flagged (for various reasons, some ignore, some look at now) I rarely got real spam, just coworker stuff. lemming
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Coworkers are SPAM! Yea, Thought of that when I hit reply. I had a filter that looked for forwarded crap. That did go into the SPAM folder. Though it was interesting to see how many of those had a virus (and this at an anti-virus company)

Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER She is called the city of churches. And a friend says she has a dark past' date=' like the rpg setting Ravenloft.[/quote'] Ballard (a district in Seattle) has lots of churches, but that's due to a law back before Ballard was annexed into Seattle dictating that there would be no more taverns in Ballard than there were churches. Hence, lots of little churches.

Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I don't know; I've never actually researched the situation. However, that is the sort of thing that happened in the late 19th and early 20th Century with new towns in the US with progressive politics and dominant ethnicity from northern Europe.
