However if the teams are closely matched, or one has a goaltender that outmatches the other enough, the team that is playing overall a better game doesn't necessarily always win. That and I frequently annoy people that I watch hockey with. At least ones that have a large emotional investment in one of the teams. I like the Avs, particularly when Patrick Roy was still in goal for them, but I like watching a good game even more. And I like seeing good players make good plays. Even if it is against "my" team. Though when Roy was in net even when the opponents would make a great play to get a nasty shot on goal there was a decent chance that on top of the great play to get there I'd be treated to an awesome save.
