Pariah Posted July 5 Report Share Posted July 5 Also, today marks the 19th anniversary of meeting Lady P. I was living with three other guys in a duplex after my divorce. I had volunteered that morning to help at a neighborhood breakfast put on by our church. One of my roommates came, and in the course of conversation he invited me to come to a barbecue and rodeo that night. Unbeknownst to either of us, the said roommate's girlfriend had invited one of her friends to come for the evening as well. So neither of us (Lady P or me) knew that the other was going to be there. So it wasn't really a blind date or anything like that. We hit it off pretty much immediately, and the rest, as they say, is history. DShomshak Posted July 5 Report Share Posted July 5 The fireworks show all my neighbors put on down at the beach is nearly as good as any you can see on TV. Smaller rockets/mortars, etc, but it goes on for hours. Dozens of people bringing thousands of dollars of colorful artillery each. Even better, no vapid pop music, no inane announcers, and no interruption every 5 minutes for 5 minutes of commercials. (After decades of this, however, I suspect the local bay could qualify as a Superfund site for all the heavy metals that have rained down from the sky.)
