Draining stats from growth and density increase

If you have the limitation unified power on growth or density increase and you drain a stat boosted by the power what affect does that have on the other powers with unified power.  For Example, if you drain STR on a character with growth will that also drain the other powers with unified power?

As a general rule, no. A STR Drain would only affect the Character's base STR Characteristic, not the levels added due to variable/conditional abilities like Growth or DI.

 

To give an example that may help:

A Character with 10 STR and 60 pts Growth (giving a total of 70 STR when at full power) is hit with a STR Drain for 50 points.  This puts them at a -40 base STR for the purposes of determining recovery from the Drain and where Characteristic-affecting Powers will begin adding. Without any Characteristic-affecting Powers in use, the Character functions as if they had a STR 0. The Character can use their Growth to take them to a (max) 20 STR.
